Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based treatment approach that can help people regulate their emotions more effectively, improve their interpersonal relationships, increase their ability to tolerate distress and be more mindful of their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
DBT typically involves:
  • Learning skills to manage your emotions and relationships more effectively
  • Helping clients reduce reliance on unhelpful and self-destructive behaviours
  • Some out of session contact, which will be individually negotiated to help you utilize new skills you learn in the therapy in situations in your life
